DEEP GALLERY WRAP STRETCHER BARS
“Gallery wrap” is the term used to describe paintings or prints on canvas that are hung on the wall without a picture frame. The canvas is wrapped around the edge and stapled to the back of the stretcher frame. Usually the painting or image is continuous from the front and around all four sides. Gallery wrapped canvas stretcher bars are widely used because they provide a very attractive and economical way of displaying a canvas painting or print.
We have several stretcher profiles for Gallery Wrapped canvas applications. A very popular “off-the-wall” frame thickness for these deep edge canvases is our 1-1/2″ Gallery Stretcher Bar and 1-5/8″ Heavy Duty Basic Stretcher Bar.
We often have requests for canvas supports ranging from 3 inches to over 5 thick and have produced many of these “extra-deep” stretchers using a variety of L-shaped, T-shaped, wood, and aluminum designs. We can custom make our L-Shaped profile frames to any size and thickness you want. Where necessary, our stretchers can be fitted with our regular cross-braces to provide very rigid and keyable support for your canvas. All of these stretcher profiles provide a very strong and stable stretcher frame which will remain straight and true and not twist or warp over time.
