Bob Nadon

Bob  started Upper Canada Stretchers Inc. in 2001 after many years of work in construction,  custom sawmilling, furniture design and the wood products manufacturing sector.  His first career as a professional engineer and penchant for inventing new products led to the creation of a series of new stretcher frame products all based on century-old keyable stretcher designs.  Under his guidance, UCS has developed a specialty in large  stretcher designs and special odd-shaped custom frame fabrication. 

Bob takes great pleasure in managing a dedicated team of workers.  Each person in the company has unique interests and talents and as owner of the company, Bob enjoys the task of finding ways of challenging his staff with new responsibilities to help develop their skills and deepen their knowledge in areas that interest them.

Even though UCS uses Internet technology extensively in their day to day work,  Bob makes it a priority to develop a personal connection with all customers and suppliers.  He sees success and "the bottom line" ultimately being more about the quality of the relationships among staff, customers and suppliers.

The crafting of our fine stretcher frames is the responsibilty of the following workshop staff members: 

David Seaman

David's many shop and computer skills makes him a valuable member of the UCS Inc. team.  As well as making top quality stretcher frames since 2003, David will often be found troubleshooting the boss' computer messups.  His responsibilites include bookkeeping, website work and daily tracking of all shipments. 

Pete Wilson

Pete joined Upper Canada Stretchers in 2006 and has quickly risen to rank of "Master Stretcher Maker".  We call him  "the Gizmo guy" because he has contributed well over 100 jigs and time-saving devices that have improved the work flow throughout the shop.  His responsibilities include keeping our saw blades and knives razor sharp and he is our resident expert "canvas stretcher-man".

Sean Laporte

Sean is the "new guy" at Upper Canada Stretchers and has quickly become a valuable member of the production team.  Sean is responsible for maintaining our stock stretcher bar inventory, and helps with our growing volume of custom work.  We all delight in Sean's wonderful sense of humour which makes our work day that much more enjoyable!

Norris Wyatt

Norris has been working the graveyard shift for Upper Canada since 2001.  His attention to detail and his focused, disciplined nature has made him a valuable  contributor to our stretcher business. Norris is the "Key" man of Upper Canada - the one responsible for the manufacturing of our hand-made hardwood stretcher keys!

Donato Cianci

Donato has been the "voice of Upper Canada" as the sales and customer service manager for the many years. His engineering background, his personal knowledge of the craft of painting and his extensive experience in the stretcher business has given him the tools to solve almost any challenging canvas situation you present him.
